Choose one macrovascular and microvascular complication and discuss the best evidence based assessment & management to identify and prevent secondary complications from the disease process - Assignment Example One of the most likely microvascular complications that they are likely to develop is retinopathy commonly known as retinopathy. The complication can be easily identified in individual with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. One can use several features in easy identification of the condition. One of the common characteristics that can be easily used in the identification of the complication is the presence of small haemorrhages in the central part of the retina (Fowler, 2008). Haemorrhages in this section of the eye appear as dots. The other characteristics that can be easily used in the identification of the condition in these individuals is the presence of hard exudates in the skin. The other common attributes are the presence of small vascular dilatations that occur in the retina commonly known as microaneurysms (Fowler, 2008). The location of the small vascular dilations can help in direct identification of the complication as they are usually the first to develop. Moreover, an individ ual is most likely to have retinal oedema that indicates microvascular leakage. Hence, individual retina is most likely to be greyish in colour. The severity can be easily identified by noting individual visual capability. The management of the disease is crucial in preventing the development of the complication. One of the key things in preventing of complication is by ensuring the three take part in dietary changes (Lewis, Dirksen, Heitkemper & Bucher, 2013). Change of diet will involve a reduction of carbohydrate intake and at the same time increase the fibre intake (Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet. (2007). Another way of reducing complication is ensuring the affected individuals take part in eye screening. Eyes should be regularly checked by ophthalmologist especially on a yearly basis (Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet. (2007). On the other hand, Nick, Marty, and Sam are likely to develop macrovascular complications. One of the common types of this complication is

Consumer Behavior according to Demographics Assignment - 6
Consumer Behavior according to Demographics - Assignment Example The respondents are further subdivided into four categories with respect to their age. There are respondents with age ranging from 15 to 25 years old and this group is 27% of the total sample size. Another group of respondents consists of samples with age ranging from 26 to 35 years old. This group is 73% of the total sample size. Another classification of respondents is according to their gender. The percentage of male respondents is 47% and the remaining percentage which is 53% goes to female respondents. This is shown in Table 2 below. Respondents are also classified according to their lifestyle. As shown in Table 3 below, the percentage of respondents who are active and dedicated is 46% and about 7% for respondents who identified themselves as romantic. There are no respondents who are longing for security, relaxed and uninvolved and others. The 13% of respondents find themselves aggressive. Another 7% of the respondents identified themselves single-minded and the remaining 27% find themselves active but lack of time. This can be further justified statistically if the probability value (P-value) is greater than 0.05. This means that there is no significant difference observed between the means of the two compared population responses. Thus, Ho is accepted. On the other hand, in the event that the P-value is less than 0.05, then this result suggests a significant difference observed between the means of the two compared population responses. Thus, Ho is rejected. The first item is asking the respondents whether friends influence them to watch a film. The responses of the respondents can be affected by how socially active they are in making and hanging out with friends.Ã

My Funeral Plan Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
My Funeral Plan - Assignment Example Wakes are overnight stays held at funerals especially on the eve of the burial day. This is a practice that is only common among Christians, Muslims bury their dead immediately after they are pronounced dead. Wakes were initially meant to be moments when the friends and family came together and commemorated their lives with the dead. With the spread of Christianity, Christians started using these moments to have services in which they prayed for the souls of the late and to pray for guidance for those they left behind by them. The services have become so common that others carry them out in churches while others carry them out in homes and places designated for them by the families of the late. Egyptians believed that the bodies of their dead were to be used again by the very dead in their eternal rest. This way, they thus devised a way, of preserving the bodies; mummification. They drained the bodies of all possible liquid and air then covered them tightly in strips of sheets. The b odies survived for millions of years in good shape and this was the origin of body preservation. Given the differing funeral schedules, some people may have their programming running for weeks, a time within which the body of the dead should still be fresh and in good shape. The modern societies came up with ways of preserving their dead with such chemicals as formalin being used to keep the bodies fresh for longer. Electrocuting the dead drains all moisture and air from the bodies thus making them to last remarkably long.

The status of women around the world and whether it has changed over Essay - 1
The status of women around the world and whether it has changed over time - Essay Example There have been different women through the centuries who have succeeded in having adventurous lives in spite of social customs that were created to confine them to the home. Khaizuran. Al-Khayzuran was a woman who travelled extensively in an era when women were severely restricted in all aspects of social life. She was born at the height of the Abbasid Empire, in Yemen. However, she would be kidnapped by Bedouin traders who then sold her to the Abbasid court as a slave (Hansen and Curtis 253). After she began to serve in the house of the next Caliph Al-Mahdi, she became personally involved with him and married him. She would bear two future caliphs Harun Al-Rashid, and Al-Hadi. In spite of living in a society that deeply oppressed its womenfolk, Al-Khayzuran was able to acquire and wield political power after marrying the most important man in the kingdom (Spodek 57). Her relatives were even awarded positions due to her influence in court. She also deeply influenced her sons who wou ld be future rulers. Even though Al-Khayzuran wielded unusual power for a woman of her day, she only managed to do this because she was the wife of the caliph. The position of women in her society did not benefit from her ascension to power. Gudrid. In some cases, women actually made the decision to go against the grain and take power for themselves. Gudrid, who was the sister-in-law of Leif Eriksson made just such a decision. Leif Eriksson was the man who landed on the American continent five centuries before Christopher Columbus did. After reaching the New World, Leif left never to return. Gudrid, however, wanted to remain there. She attempted to settle in the land that was named ââ¬ËVinlandââ¬â¢. Even though women were not viewed as warriors in the same way that men were, they had some more freedoms than their sisters in the medieval era would have in the next few centuries. Viking women, like Gudrid, could own ships as well as farms (Hansen and Curtis 286). Sometimes they relocated with their husbands, just as Gudrid did, when their men went in search of new lands to conquer. However, during such campaigns, they were often left behind to tend to commercial activities as well as the lands that were left behind when their husbands left. Moreover, even in campaigns, there were many times when women were required on trips. Li Qing-Zhao. While this type of freedom cannot be compared to that enjoyed by women in the 21st century, it was still much more than that enjoyed by women in other areas in the world. For example, for Li Qing-Zhao, who lived during the Song Dynasty life was much harder. Women in the Song dynasty were confined to homes and could not hold business related or political leadership positions. In addition, they could only improve their status by bearing male children. Li Qing-Zhao was a unique woman of her time who became a poet in spite of all the restrictions that she was bound by. She also travelled to many places as a result of adversit ies such as invasions from other nations. After her husband lost his battle with Malaria, Li Qing-Zhao would spend the rest of her life wandering from place to place. When she settled in Hangzhou in 1132, her writings in

One book, We Have Met the Enemy, And It Is Us, states that the coach plays an important role in training the table tennis learners. Research shows that there is a strong relationship between the coaching performance and the related academic references. Research states that the expert coach correctly meets the learnersââ¬â¢ halfway to enhance cooperation, separating the training of the beginner learners from experts, and offering sport scholarship incentives to hasten learnerââ¬â¢s mastery of the lessons. The Research shows that the novice coach never implemented the learning theories. The expert coach educator can be described as ââ¬Å"a physical educator who is a highly trained, broad-based, experienced professional practitioner who can bring anatomical, physiological, mechanical, psychological, and maturational aspects of human movement together, and combine an extensive activity base with sound ph ilosophical and pedagogical principlesâ⬠. Summarizing the above discussion, I saw the expert coach implement the three relevant learning theories to sports training, unlike the novice coach. I observed the expert coach built cooperation between the learners and the coach in the sports training, unlike the novice coach who just let the players play for two hours. Evidently, I observed the expert table tennis coach successfully implemented the relevant learning theories to win more sports tournaments. However, the novice coach unfavorably refused to implement the three learning theories.
